What is detailing?
"Auto-detailing is the performance of an extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an automobile, both inside and out, to produce a show quality level of detail. Besides improving the appearance of cars, detailing helps preserve the car, and thus, increases resale value" Wikipedia 2010
Originally established in the US, the concept of "detailing" has firmly established itself in the UK and even has forums dedicated to detailing discussion. Here at Swissvax we take "detailing" very seriously indeed, because it gives us the opportunity to showcase our products to the finest effect.
Modern paintworks particularly are so easy to damage with poor washing techiniques and can soon look dull, scratched and tired. Simply washing your car with a sponge in a circular motion can cause what we call Swirl marks - fine circular scratches in the paint work.
Previously, the only solution was a respray.
This is no longer the case. Using a range of products, the professional detailer can transform your car into better than showroom condition.
It's not just old cars that suffer from swirl marks; some simply haven't been prepped very well by the supplying dealer and you may see what we call holograms caused by either poor machine polishing or excess wax. These look like this. Again these can be simply rectified by a skilled detailer and the correct products.

Our Detailing Services
Managed by experienced Swissvax Detailer Glyn O'Donnell, our Swissvax Detailing Centre opened in March 2012 and is literally a one stop shop for all your cosmestic vehicle needs. Fully equipped with a scissor lift even suitable for supercars, and with specialised lighting to enable us to see even fine scratches and swirl marks, Glyn and his team offer a menu of car care services using the entire range of Swissvax high performance car care products.
For those looking for the added extra, an outdoor four post lift gives us the ability to complete underbody concours preparation, or to carry out a waxoyl protection treatment. Scuffed alloys are no problem either. We use the services of a local wheel refurbishment specialist and can have your wheels repaired, refurbished or even colour changed while we focus on the arches and calipers. We can also arrange for paintless dent removal and paintwork repairs (at local bodyshops), so you can simply drive away in our loan car, and return to a car in better than showroom condition. LEATHER TREATMENTS - Cracked leather is caused by dirt, so cleaning and nourishing them on a regular basis is a great preventative step to prolonging the life of your leather interior. For seats in need a some more TLC, we can also undertake minor repairs and leather colouring - whether touching up small areas or a complete re-dye in the existing or a new colour of your choice, as shown here with the before and after of a 30 year old Ferrari interior.

Future Swissvax Authorised Detailers
Swissvax UK is actively looking to increase its national network of Swissvax Authorised Detailers, particularly (but not exclusively) in the following areas: West Midlands, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Cumbria, Devon, Cornwall, Lincolnshire and in the Republic of Ireland.
Basically to become a Swissvax Authorised Detailer, you would need to attend a training and assessment course at our North Yorkshire Head Office. The course contains some classroom tuition but is mostly a hands on practical assessment of your skills and training in Swissvax best practice. Ideally you will be already established as a detailer, but you could be an experienced valeter looking to branch out into detailing. Exceptionally we will consider applications from those outside the profession, but you would need to be able to demonstrate some form of detailing experience on a non commercial basis to be accepted for training.
Assessment takes 2 days and costs £1200 plus VAT; this includes one years authorisation and a Swissvax kit of professional products. Renewal is by invitation and currently costs £300 plus VAT. When you become authorised, this enables you to use our logo and images and to local referrals in your area from our website.
